Abstract

Early diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis is an important challenge because the substantial irreversibile damage occurs within the first 2 years and we have evidence that early treatment with disease-modifying drugs or a biological agens leads to the better disease outcome.Early referral recommendation for newly diagnosed
rheumatoid arthritis and a prediction model for erosive persistent arthritis were developed and are a viable tool to identify patients with rheumatoid arthritis early. Various disease activity indices, improvement scores and outcome measures were developed to enable evaluation of disease activity and response to treatment in individual patients.
