Abstract

This paper aims to contribute to current state of the art in the field of knowledge of vertical processes in the hydrological cycle. These are broad and well permeable areas of river alluvium, which are not directly related to surface water regime of the watercourse. Most fully exploring these hydrological processes and natural laws of motion of water may be the only exploratory work. By direct measurement from year 1988. and by analysis of hydrological factors of the vertical water balance of groundwater at the infiltration station "Varkom" it is possible to get to know processes of the infiltration end evapotranspiration, which are characteristic of the climate region of the northwestern area of Croatia.
