Introduction to European Union Sanctions

Abstract
This paper discusses sanctions imposed by the European Union on some countries (sometimes even officials), primarily for political, and sometimes for even economic reasons, and the legal basis that the European Union relies upon in these cases. Examples are provided of such sanctions imposed by the European Union and the United Nations. The paper also examines the objective and purpose of such sanctions and their success in terms of the means or manner of implementation.
