Activities of Croatian financial institutions in order to harmonize with EU payment system

Abstract
By the Decision of opening the transaction accounts, Croatian Banking Association has enabled the usage of IBAN (International Bank Account Number) even in the national payments. Most credit institutions awarded IBAN to its customers and it is available in the excerpt of the transaction account as well as in the credit institution. With the implementation of the national payment transactions, transaction accounts of payer/payee can be expressed in BBAN or IBAN construction. In order to align Croatian payment system with EU payment system, new payment forms have been introduced; HUB 3 and HUB 3A. HUB 3 form is universal payment form, unique for all payments and it can be used for national and international payments. HUB 3A form can only be used for national payments. With this act, international payment transactions have been facilitated for Croatian entrepreneurs and they are encouraged for doing business abroad.
