Abstract

The author analyses the relationship between multiple and dual names within the context of listing two or more subjects linked with conjunction i (and). Research conducted on the body of Chakavian legal texts from the 13th to the 18th century indicates the preservation of dual forms, with two listed subjects, in every period, however they are no longer dominant past the 16th century. Texts indicate that, under the influence of Shtokavian literary heritage, dual forms with three listed subjects don't appear before the 18th century.
