Abstract

The presentday conditions in business operation make planning and setting of goals more difficult than before. Adaptations to situations within the company become necessary on a daily basis. Additional trends include the increased use of information technology and development of e-business. This requires a new approach in decisions making, new organizational forms, new ways of managing the companies, and, in a way, new people. Since the business environment in which today’s companies operate is unpredictable, the need for continuous adjustment is growing steadely, just as it does in Nature. Therefore, it is no wonder that the knowledge acquired by natural sciences is increasingly applied in business. Modern business conditions have forced the managers to look for solutions to business problems in totaly new areas. New business ideas are developing and can be applied also in Croatia’s plastic and rubber industry.
