Abstract

The object of analyses were the workers' medical records with intention to assess the benefits of medical tests for those exposed to cancerogenic substances in a chemical fertilizer plant where the workers are exposed to hydrazine and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH). The data comprised: smoking habits, weight gain, red and white blood cell count, thrombocyte count, YGT, AST and ALT, determined at periodic medical examinations. The study has shown no cases of cancer development in workers exposed to cancerogenic substances at the plant. In addition, the specific characteristics of cancerogenic substances hydrazine and PAH are described.
