Abstract

This paper deals with the differences between poslije and nakon, two prepositions expressing subsequent time. These differences are reflected in their origin, in their syntagmatic features, in the nuances of their meaning, frequency of usage and normative acceptability.
The research into their usage in literary works, newspaper articles, and everyday spoken language confirms that the prepositions poslije and nakon are not equivalents
