Abstract
The Republic of Croatia is a European Union member, and as such it needs to undertake numerous activities with the goal of improving and promoting its total tourist offer, in order to stand at an equal
level with leading destinations and to achieve a competitive advantage and position in the European and World’s Tourism flows. It needs to use all the possibilities of improving tourist offer with strict
adherence to sustainable development postulates. Nautical Tourism is one of numerous selective forms of tourism in the Republic of Croatia which possesses big potential and deserved attention needs to be given to its development. The purpose of preparing this paper was to point to future prospects and advantages of the Nautical Tourism development within the tourist offer of the Republic of Croatia
and to the importance of promotion activities there within. The goal of the paper was to present the actual state of tourism in the European Union as the world’s leading tourism region, to analyze the
state and importance of the contribution the Nautical Tourism offer gives to the development of the Republic of Croatia tourist product, aimed at an equal inclusion in the EU tourism flows and to offer
further developmental and promotional guidelines through the formation of an interest community denominated Adriatica Marine and the project named The Adriatic-Pearl of the Mediterranean.
