Abstract

The influence of avant-garde events in Budapest combined with the avante-garde movement in general is indisputable in Miroslav Krleža's poetic opus. The latter points to missing sections that would complete the mosaic of the creation of this unique art-form from the last century in Europe. Research on the document structure from magazines and papers of the time underlines the spiritual climate and reception towards artistic creations within anti-war poetry; nightmarish images of the harsh realities of World War I, akin to a fevered dream in Krleža's poetry.
