Abstract

Several books appeared at the end of the 15th and the beginning of the 16th century explaining the methods used in designing sacral buildings (H. Schmuttermeyer, M. Roritzer, L. Lacher). The analysis of the Franciscan church in Kloštar Ivanić proves that the construction of the church almost entirely followed old masters' rules, mostly those of L. Lacher. Quadrangulation was applied in the ground-plan, details and vertical sections. The masters who built the church were most probably Czech, which is in accordance both with the details and with Lacher's assertion that the aforementioned construction rules were originated by the »Prague Junkers«.
