Abstract

Nowadays, there are numerous bioethic bodies in the most developed countries, as different by their names (committees, commissions, boards), so by the purpose of activity, goals and methods, but their common ground is that they are the characteristics of the new age in which bioethics has the greater role not only in science, but also in politics, culture and social life in general.
The establishment and development of these institutions in the context of the establishment of bioethics as a movement and a scientific field are being considered in detail in this article, as well as their societal role in the USA, where bioethic committees and analogous institutions appeared for the first time in the early 60ies. Along with the national bioethic bodies, the author considered in detail especially their two most numerous types: Hospital Ethic Committee and Research Ethic Boards, about which there are still no sufficient research and bibliography.
