Abstract

In this study we stimulated ulnar nerve in medium third of right brachium with
modulated electric current, freque.ncy 40 Hz (square impulses duration of 2 ms with pause
20 ms), intensity was 4 mA. 1l1e source of e lectric current was MINISAN IC (ELKOM -
Ljubljana).
Subjects in this study were healthy volunters (6 male and 5 female), 8 of them
from the medical staff.
We me stimulation with above mentioned electric current.
The average NCV before stimulation was 59,22 + 5.57 m/s, and after stimulation
59,75 + 7,05 m/s. No significant differences were findings, (NCV hasn't change s ign -
ficantly) , we conclude that stimulation with this kind of electric current doesn't result in
functional changes of nerve structures in mixed nerve (axon myelin ~heat with neurilema,
etc.).
Key words: ulnar nerve, motor nerve conduction velocities (NCV), electric stimulation,
modulated electric impulses
