Abstract

A group of X hcalthy individuals (S males, 3 fc rna les, mean age 33,75 + 14.8) were
investigated: We stimulatcd directly n. ulnaris in the middle tl\ ird of r ight upper arm. twice
within one month pe riod.
First time they have been stimulated with pulsed current (square impulses with
duration of S ms and pausc of 20 ms, i.e. fn:quency 40 Hz) combined with galvanic
current (intt;nsity nf 2 mA) during period of 10 minutes. The same method was repeated
after one month, but just with pulsed electricity of 4 mA intensity. Both times first was
determined nerve conduction velocity (NCV) before and after the stimulation with EMG
NEUROSTAR MS 92 B apparatus. with surface e lectrode over the m.abd.dig.V.
Comparing the results before and after the stimulation for both times, the statisticaly
si~nificant differences was not registered on the level of P = 0.05 (t-Student test).
Differences between NCV before ;md after the stimulation for months Jan. and Febr. :u-e
not statistically significant. According tn this study, this kind of stimulation nf motor nerve
does not cause functional changes, and that is important for functional rehabilitation and electrical stimulation over normal motor neJVe in patients with disease of central motorn
neuron (hemiplaegic and par Key words: n. ulnaris. ncYVc conduction velocity (NCV), clectros timulation, functional
