Abstract

Renewal of the system is a recurrent process that is designed to continuously provide consumers with a variety of high quality, reliable and up to date height information. Due to outdated height data the Republic of Croatia imminent renewal of height reference system. The aim of this paper is to investigate how some European countries to address this problem and to present in a clear manner height systems in the wider surroundings. During the renewal of basic geometric levelling network in the Republic of Croatia will have to take into account the fact that on the territory of the former common state were created new states, the need to adopt a new height system (normal or orthometric) and the importance of levelling lines in neighbouring countries for the network configuration.
