Abstract

A case of spastic tetraparesis caused by post-traumatic cerebral fat embolism
is described. Such pa,tients are not often seen in rehabilitation centres as some
recover without sequelae and many die in the early stage of the illness. The
mechanisms responsible for thedevelopment of fat embolism are discussed.
