Abstract
Although urinary tract infections are common infections in women, and hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome is zoonotic in Croatia, a potential dual infection with uropathogen and hantaviruses is not normally suspected and diagnostically approached. Dual infections with hantaviruses and other pathogens, mostly with leptospira, are described. It is necessary in clinical and diagnostic approach, to also think of the possibility for dual infections, especially in more severe clinical forms of the disease. A combination of the two diseases can sometimes be challenging for diagnostics. Here we present a case of a 64-yearold female patient with confirmed dual infection with virus Puumala and E. coli.
