Abstract

The paper describes the characteristics of the Čakavian vernacular phonological system as spoken in the Rab, a settlement on the south westof the Rab island. Accentuation is described as well as the differences from the basic Čakavian accentuation. The author also presents the characteristics of the vowel and consonant system.
