Abstract

Pope Francis’ communication and simplicity, introduced a certain vivacity in the Church and contributed to a change of the perception of the Church in public. Some new forms of communication of the bishop of Rome are visible since his first appearance after the Conclaves, his first address and greeting, “brothers and sisters, good evening”. Is this a particular communication strategy, or a personal charisma? The world of the mass media requires the “acceptance” of the rules of the media communication. What are the challenges that Pope Francis faces in his communicational strategy? Does this type of communication hide certain dangers? The author analyzes the communication of Pope Francis, pondering on the meaning of his communication in the wider context of the Popes’ ministry, i.e. the evangelization.
