Abstract

With the introduction of new "green" technologies in various fields, new risks in the sector of health and safety at work have arisen. In addition to the known risks, there are new ones, still not fully understood, related to new materials, new processes, new methods of work, etc. It is important to assess threats to life and health of the workers over a longer space of time. Assessment of integrated risks undertaken in the process of designing a new product or process is much more effective and cheaper than if the assessment of their health and safety impacts is undertaken once the new product or procedure is already in use. This requires a high degree of interdisciplinary cooperation, development of policy-making and research, and cooperation of the workers and all social partners. The paper illustrates new green technologies and their impact on occupational safety and health.
