FUNDAMENTAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MULTIMODAL TRANSPORT CONTRACT

Abstract

A good knowledge of the major elements of a contract is a precondition for a successful improvement of legal relations between the sender and the multimodal transport operator and other active participants in the multimodal transport operations. The authors of this paper aim at elaborating, systematically and concisely,
the fundamental characteristics of the multimodal transport contract: the concept, essential and unessential elements, legal form of the contract, contracting procedure as well as the modifications, amendments and breach of the multimodal transport contract.
