Abstract

The quality control process is a very complex system whose rules, customs and standards should be followed in order to obtain correct and precise results concerning the sample of goods examined. Relevant information about the quality of cargo bears great significance in commercial contracts in the present-day ecomomy.
Therefore, great responsibility lies with the commodity inspection and quality control services not only in terms of protecting their clients, but also in taking active part in ensuring a safe transport of all types of cargo and in protecting the environment. The ISO and ASTM standards contribute significantly to the quality control system development, thus enabling global communications concerning the quality control and commodity inspection procedure itself. Modern sophisticated laboratories enable rapid and precise evaluation of objective type parameters, provided that the standard sample is obtained according to referential procedures and standards. This paper aims at elaborating on the process of sample acquisition according to the recently upgraded statistical patterns. It also recommends that these patterns should be used as frequently as possible by athorized commodity inspection and quality control services.
