Abstract

The research was conducted with the aim of determining gender differentiations of some anthropological characteristics
of male and female cadet karate players. To achieve this aim, a group of 10 morphological variables, ten motor tests,
fi ve situation motor test and six technical performance evaluation tests was applied. Two hundred and six competing
players were measured, of which 105 male and 101 female. The examinees were divided according to weight categories
(lower and higher weight categories). Based on the variance analysis and canon discrimination analysis a conclusion can
be made: gender differentiations are most strongly expressed in morphological and basic motor area, and signifi cantly
less in the area of specifi c motor abilities and motor knowledge (technical effi ciency).
