Abstract

In 2001, 26 921 birds of 138 species were ringed. In 2002, 37 920 birds of 163 species were ringed. The grand total of ringed birds in Croatia is now 697 558 birds of 295 species. The new species are: Audouin’s Gull Larus audouinii, Knot Calidris canutus, Yellow-browed Warbler Phylloscopus inornatus and Citril Finch Serinus citrinella. In 2002 a total of 581 recoveries of birds ringed by Zagreb Ringing Scheme and 164 ringed by foreign ringing centers were recorded. Birds were ringed by 16 ringing schemes from 14 European countries.
