Abstract

This work presents data on the Roman relief depicting
military gear, whose provenance and discovery
date had not been previously ascertained. Thanks
to archival data, we have learned that the relief was
found in Split in 1924, not far from the western wall
of Diocletian’s Palace, and that the Archaeological
Museum purchased it in 1942. In this regard, some
assumptions are made as to its original location. Data
are also presented on the Early Christian sarcophagus
from Kaštel Lukšić, which was once offered to the
Museum for purchase.
