Abstract

In 2004 and 2005, an archaeological investigation was conducted on a site covering 350 square meters and containing 39 graves. All the burials were inhumation burials in pits except one in which a dead body was entombed in a chamber (G 135).

The bodies were placed in extended position in oblong, square and oval shaped grave pits. Most of the burials are individual apart from G 127, G 135 and G 154 which are double burials. Grave goods were found in 34 burials and included glass and ceramic vessels, bone and metal jewellery, iron knives and bronze coins which date the graves in the second half of the 4th century. Burials G 125, G 135, G 137, G 139 and G 154 did not contain grave goods.
