Abstract

Digital relief model is a digitized approximation, with freely chosen spatial resolution, of Earth’s surface, made with scientifically chosen interpolation method based on collected and processed data. The application of the model within military geographic analysis is based both on cartographic visualization of the operation area and military geographic analysis essential for planning and execution of combat actions that take place on the researched area. The digital model that is used within this research was made by vectorization process of primary and secondary data collected from both Croatian topographic map (scale 1 : 5000) and Croatian digital ortho-photo map, furthermore the data was interpolated by the interpolation method that generated the most precise area. Researched area is part of the battlefield in a operation Maslenica which started 22 January 1993, respectively the area of responsibility of the Fourth Guards Brigade at the wider area of Novigrad.
