Abstract

Water-soluble, coloured complexes formed in the reactions of Toxogonin with either sodium aminepentacyanoferrate(II) (AmPF) or sodium nitro-sylpentacyanoferrate (II) (NP) were used for spectrophotometric determinations ot Toxogonin in urine and blood serum. Toxogonin in urine can be determined with both reagents in the concentration range from 100 to 1 OOO µmol/dm3 of urine (if analysis is performed with 0.1 cm3 of native urine). The coefficient of variation ranges from 2.66 to 5.31% in the determination with AmPF and from 1.92 to 3.75% in the determination with NP. Toxogonin in serum can be determined only by using the NP reagent. In the concentration range from 50 to 500 µmol/dm3 of serum, the coefficient of variation is between 1.98 and 2.24%.
