Abstract

The mean monthly and yearly mass concentrations of ammonia in the air collected at a measuring site in the northern part of Zagreb over 12 years (1969-1980) are presented. In the measured period the mean yearly concentrations ranged from 12 to 22 µg m-3 and the mean daily values from 0 to 138 µg m-3. The difference in the values of ammonia mass concentrations between the summer and the winter period was statistically significant, the summer values being higher. The measured ammonia concentrations in the air in Zagreb were found to be comparable to those reported for other cities in Europe and the United States.
