Abstract

The paper discusses the role of theatre design in audience perception, i.e., the relationship between theatre design and theatre audience. The first part of the paper focuses on various theoretic approaches to the relationship of theatre design and theatre audience, on multiple methodologies in its analysis, and to numerous possible areas of research interest with regard to connections of theatre design and theatre audience. The second part of the paper focuses on several typical examples of relationship between theatre design and audience from both Croatian theatre history and contemporary Croatian theatre.
