Disposal of toxic industrial waste

Abstract

On the basis of experience in constructing a landfill disposal site for toxic and hazardous waste in the town of Banja Luka the author describes modern principles used in this work. A modern, properly engineered landfill disposal site should be designed so as to prevent any contact of the disposed material with the soil and underground water. The author stresses a need for careful consideration of numerous facts which if ignored may have a deleterious effect on man and environment.
