Abstract

The levels of sulphate and sulphur dioxide mass concentrations were measured in the air of two Zagreb suburban districts: Remetinec and Samobor. The measurements were conducted simultaneously for several months. Compared to the levels in urban areas the measured mass concentrations of sulphur dioxide in suburban districts were very low (in Samobor for instance, the mean value for the entire measuring period was 27 µg/m-3 with a range of 0-77 µg/m-3), while sulphate mass concentrations were on the same level: x̄ = 14 µg m-3 with a range of 3-47 µg m-3.
