Abstract

Treating chronic pain presents a great challenge in clinical practice. One of the reasons is an insufficient knowledge of neurobiology and pathophysiology of complex chronic painful conditions. Each chronic pain has an acute phase and the question is whether an efficient therapy administered in timely manner would prevent complex pathophysiological processes that lead to pain chronification. Ibuprofen salts, such as ibuprofen lysine, provide a faster onset and more intensive and longer duration of analgesia compared to the standard form of ibuprofen, with reduced need for remedication.
