Abstract

In this article the reproductive performances of 53 Lipiccaner mares from Đakovo stud. are examined.
The average culling age was at 12.86 years (4686 days).
The mares had their first foal at the average age of 4.75 years (1735 days) and 6 foalings during the average lifetime.
The foaling interval length was 483.71 days and the service period 157.61 days. On the basis of these data we have determined 75.46% foalings per year, similar to that as stated by Brinzej (1980).
With successive foalings, the length of foaling interval decreased by regression y=520.6- 7.8x.
There was no significant difference in age at first foaling and in length of foaling interval among mares divided by their father,s blood lines. Single gravidity lengths varied within values that had been established for Lipiccaner breed.
