Abstract

A method for the evaluating of the curent reproductive status of herds (HRS) by Johnson et. al. (1964.) was applied in 4 dairy herds with 587 cows. The corrected averaged calving intervals (MTR) by farms ranged from 367 to 444 days. The fertility (365/MTR x 100) was between 82.2% and 99.5%. The reproductive status, denoted by the HRS-value, based on reproductive data, obtained on 1.1.1989., within herds ranged from 63.4 to 76.8.
