Abstract

The effect of various, herd milk production level on estimating breeding value of HF sires under Sire Model was analysed. Data consisted of 1921 first lactation production records of HF heifers, daughters of eight sires. Herds were classified into two production level groups. Sires were evaluated for each group separately. Genetic correlations between groups were .523, .494 and .576 for milk yield, fat yield and FCM, respectively. Logarithmically transformed data showed slightly higher genetic correlations among groups. Consenquently, sire evaluations based on data from each group were quite different.
