Abstract

Background: The reward-system can be differentiated
from the motivational system.
Methods and results: A complex psychodynamic approach
(OPD-2) takes into account motivational aspects – psychological
functioning – the drug and the consequences. Multiaxial
aspects are necessary. The system is described.
Conclusions: A psychodynamic cycle of addiction enables
different therapy steps.
