Abstract

On the Mediterranean rangeland of the Festuco - Koelerietum splendentis and Quercetum frainetto - cerris plant communities the selected plant species grazed by goats were studied by the „Grazing time“ and Bit frequency methods. Among the woodland varieties five mostly grazed were: Phillyrea media, Querens sp., Cistus sp., Rubus fruticosus and Erica arborea. The pasture plants were classified as grasses, legumes and herbs Mostly grazed were grasses, which have the greatest grazing value of all the plants present. Goats did not gaze 14,3% of the time spent on the pasture consisted of aproximately 70% of the woodland plants and 30 % the pasture.
