BREEDING VALUE ESTIMATION OF HOLSTEIN-FRIESIAN BULLS USING MULTIPLE TRAIT EVALUATION

Abstract
In this paper the best linear unbiased prediction (BLUP) of breeding values of 20 bulls, using multiple trait evaluation was determined. Research was carried out on 2109 milk trait records of their daughters. There were only slight differences between estimating breeding values without and with incorporation of correlation among traits, Furthemore, error standard deviations (Se) were almost equal (milk yield: 1077.0 and 1076.9.8; fat yield: 36.8 and 36.8, respectively).
