Ash whitefly (Siphoninus phillyrea) is the pest of wild plant species and agricultural crops in the Mediterranean and temperate climates. Occasionally it appears in the olives, apples, pears, peaches and apricots, causing minor damage to the leaves. In recent years in the Southern and western Hercegovina it causes considerable damage to crops of pomegranate. Intensifying of pomegranate growing with numerous irrigation and fertilization have created the favorable conditions for the emergence and divelopment of this pest.
