Abstract

In 39 eiaculates of 18 bulls with the "non return" of 50-60%, and in 41 ejaculates of 25 bulls with the "non return" of 60-75%, the simenthal breed from the Center for artificial insemination, activity changes of enzymes beta-glucuronidase, AST and arginase were determined by using customary chemical methods, separatelly for sperm and seminal plasma. The total of 480 determination were performed. The results of the determination were statistically analyzed, for both groups of bulls and compared by T-test. In the ejaculates of bulls with higher "non return" activities of arginase were significantly higher in the sperms and in the semen plasma (P < 0,05, P < 0,05) than in the eiaculates of bulls with "non return" of 50-60% . The activity of beta-glucuronidase in the semen plasma of bulls with higher "non return" was significantly lower than in the first group of bulls (P < 0,05). Differences of AST activities between both groups of bulls were nonsignificant. Determination of enzymatic activity of arginase and beta-glucuronidase in the semen plasma and sperms of bulls could be a very good indicator for the quality of ejaculate and fertilizing capacity of the sperm.
