Abstract

Due to climatic and georaphical characteristics, the southern area of Herzegovina are suitable for growing citrus. Mandarin, the most widespread citrus, is primarily grown in the garden in the form of smaller or larger groups of individual trees. However, in the area of Herzegovina there are fruit nurseries which produce citrus planting material and supply not only the local, but also neighboring markets. Assortment of mandarin is different although the most prevalent are following varieties: Zorica rana, Chahara, Ichumare, Okitsu, Kuno, Seto, Kawano Wase i Klementina. In recent years, in the area of Herzegovina are increasingly cultivated resistant hybrids of citrus group, of which the dominant is Curafora Segentrange.
