Abstract
Early yield forecast of apples and pears made on the basis of the June inspection is of great importance for the organization of the harvest, cooling space planning, selection of fruit for longer storage and setting sales prices and sales opportunities in the domestic and foreign markets. This paper presents a modern approach to visualization of native trees using a digital camera and digital image processing for the purpose of forecasting the expected yield at harvest. The method for practical purposes is used in Slovenia since 2004 and was successfully tested in several neighboring countries, including Croatia.
