Abstract

Mycotoxins are toxic secondary metabolites of fungi. Their biosynthesis depends not only on the type and strain of fungus, but also on abiotic environmental conditions. Ingestion of mycotoxins causes a number of very serious diseases that can result in lethal outcomes. Antifungal and antimycotoxigenic prevention and decontamination is therefore essential in everyday agricultural practices.
