Pollen analysis of honey from Varaždin County

Abstract

Pollen analysis was done on nine samples of honey from Varaždin County. According to pollen analysis, seven samples are of unifloral honey and two of multifloral. In the analyzed honey samples the highest percentage of pollen grains were of Fagaceae, Brassicacea and Fabaceae families, and in smaller percentage of Asteraceae, Roseaceaea, Salicaceae, Oleaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Loranthaceae, Dipsaceae and Apiaceae families. The dominant group of pollen grains consisted of Castanea sativa Mill., Brassica napus subsp. oleifera DC. and Robinia pseudoacacia L.
