Abstract

This paper presents the results of the research of influence of the Friend rootstock and hole insertion grafting technique on individual mass of watermelon fruit and yield of commercial fruits. The researches were conducted on three hybrids which local farmers produce commercially for the local market; Vasko F1, Fantasy F1 and Crisby F1. By comparative research between the hybrids grafted onto Friend rootstock and hybrids which are not grafted, the mass of the fruits of grafted hybrids is increased for one kilogram per fruit in average and the yield is increased for 29% with specific relation of each hybrid toward rootstock and applied grafting technique.
