Protection of grape in vegetation
Nino Ivančan
Abstract
The protection of grape from the most important diseases and pests begins in May. The protection lasts until the end of August and for later sorts even until the first tenday period in September. They are Plasmopara viticola, Uncinula necator, grey mould (Botrytis cinerea) and grape moths (Eupecilia ambiguella, Lobesia botrana). For the successful protection from the listed diseases and pests it is necessary to know biology, i.e. the way of life of diseases and pests, the conditions they develop under, meteorological conditions which are suitable for them, development stages of grape, and chemical composition and the way the pesticides act. Developed leaf mass and further intensive plant growth, flowering and development of bunch are suitable for the development of diseases and pests. Pesticides which are differentiated by the way they function and by an active chemical compound should be adjusted to that.
