Abstract

Modern trends of management in cultural institutions and performance management are the result of adjusting to new conditions, based on human resources as the most important business function, and headed by strategic management as a driver of change. Change management is a systematic process of applying the knowledge, processes, and resources needed to bring about changes in the people who will be affected by it. The goal is a successful realisation of the desired business solution in an organised and methodical way. Management allows the introduction of appropriate development strategies into archival institutions and makes professionals even more productive. The overall objective of the paper is to understand and highlight the role that management may have on the development segment of cultural heritage, and in the management and coordination of effectively used human and material resources in order to achieve certain goals in specific cultural institutions such as archival institutions.
