Abstract
Because of the high sensitivity of wine grape on phylloxera, it practically can not be cultivated on its own roots any more, but only grafted on appropriate wine grape rootstock- wild grafting stocks. A proper choice of wine grape rootstock is among most important actions which precede raising a new vineyard, especially in cases of extremely dry grounds, soils with high content of active lime, poor soils or those with high ground waters. A bad choice of rootstock can have a negative effect on crops and quality of grapes as well as on the lastingness of a vineyard. Because of an inappropriate wine grape rootstock, vineyards are often burdened with extra expenses for many years.
