Abstract

One of the first steps in the organization of ecological production is planting apple cultivars that are resistant to economically most important diseases. In Croatia there are few important disease agents (Venturia inaequalis, Podosphaera leucotricha) that populate parasites on apples, and lately there is also Erwinia amylovora. Exactly because of the appearance of those diseases, with not hardy cultivars interventions with pesticides are necessary. From the conducted research that lasted for three years we can conclude that the listed apple cultivars are resistant to bacterial burning, scabbiness of fruits and oidium, and those which can rival conventional sorts are:
Cooper 7SB2, Enterprize, Rewena and Florina
